The Lawyer

Till that day I was a simple lawyer with works involving martial issues, dispute between lands and home violence issues. But that day changed my whole life. That day gave me a purpose to live and it provided me a path of opportunities. If I have to compare pros and cons, I would say that the event was a profitable one but still it left a scar in my heart which wasn’t mendable. Considering everything what I felt and whatever I saw. That day is a memory with hell lotta flaw. I am successful right now but if you would ask me whether I prefer the present life over the past one, I would say that being a simple lawyer was far better than being an underground lawyer.
“Have your talked to that crying woman over there? You have a chance to get success with her!!”, said Girish with a stupid laughter. “Naah! I would rather choose your relation to break over her.” This sentence gave a bitter slap on his face and he went back to his own work. I never liked anyone giving me free advice. I was advised to become an engineer which I declined. The day ended and I started walking back to my home with a smile on my face as I had broken up one more marriage. “Rikshaw!” I started going back to my sweet home where my Raul, my German Shephard, was waiting for me. The moment Rikshaw left me and I turned to my home, I saw bloodstains on the doorknob. I ran towards it thinking it to be some kind of prank but on touching, I was horrified enough to lose my balance. Never have I taken part in the investigation of any murder but here it was. My legs started shivering and I was trembling from fear. Upon slowly opening the room, I saw that the lights were off and windows closed. I had no parents neither relatives who would have helped me so I was alone. The moment I switched on the lights, I saw the most horrifying scene of my entire life.
A man was hung in the middle of the air using lots of red coloured electric tape. He was wearing clothes of 18th century and it seemed that the death happened after he was tied. The tape was of the best quality as it wasn’t breaking even after the man was tied to it. I noticed that the places where the tapes were tied consists of different shapes. Every shape was unique. I knew that if I involved police then surely, I was going to be jailed thus, I had to solve the riddle myself. Closing the door behind me, I put on my gloves and started looking for all the clues. The tuxedo that the dead body was wearing, was tailor made as it had mark of the shop from where it was sewed. I took a close look on it and easily recognised that it was from Swiss & Class Named shop where only the poor went. The man’s face was burnt thus it was impossible to recognise who he was. I saw that on every wall there was shape made. On looking it carefully, it clicked me that the shape was braille script. I went to google and wrote down every alphabet of the braille script. On cracking it, a word popped out:
NKEN
There isn’t single word that spelled NKEN and jumbling the word didn’t help me as well. I started looking for more clues that would give me some way to crack it. Suddenly I looked on the ceiling and floor as well. Now this word was making sense:
SUNKEN
Sunken = Underground. It means there was something underground that shop. But in my knowledge, there wasn’t any underground room in that shop. And a shop where they had nothing to hide, how can it relate to crime. I thought that it was impossible to think because I was still trembling so I went to sleep in another room trying to ignore that a body was hanging in my drawing room. The next morning when the newspaper came directly on my head through the window, I woke up. But then again, I wished that I must have not opened my eyes. The headlines said that a person who has same name as my name is killed and that person was nowhere to be found. I understood where this was leading me. I started my bike and gave a full throttle to it till I reached the shop. The moment I entered the shop, I died.
According to the reports, I was found dead in my own house and my body was trampled with tapes. Nobody knew about the murderer since I had no relatives nor friends. But here I was alive and with great health receiving lakhs as my payment just do one kind work. Disposing the bodies of people who were murdered moments ago.
